A little late to the Nerdfighter party, but I picked up this copy of TFiOS at my local, used bookstore only to discover it was a first edition, first printing with John’s autograph and Hank’s Hanklerfish! Local bookstore, your wonders never cease.

11/21/2012Anyone who has followed me for any great length of time, knows how much I hate and detest Valentine’s day.
Anyone who needs a specific day to show how much they care or love or want someone needs to have their sense of romance and passion checked. That also applies to birthdays or any other “special” day.
This picture is gorgeous. It is a creative and unique. THIS is what I would love to receive on any ordinary day with a very simple not that said something along the lines of…
“I was thinking of you and this is the result. Hope you have an amazing day!”
THAT would go SO much farther with me than a processed card, a bunch of flowers, or even chocolate.
Just sayin’.

I think a lot of people overlook this.
It’s true that I will always take care of My girl, and that she in turn takes care of Me. I have said many times that I love the song lyric, “she is My heart, and I am her armor.”
However, I also have faith that My girl is strong enough that, should something every happen to Me, she is strong enough to survive without Me. I know that she would be upset, but she would move on and succeed at life still.
I see people every day saying things like, “I can’t function without you.” or, “With you gone, nothing matters.”
Although I understand the sentiment that they are trying to convey, those phrases and others like them, can actually be quite intimidating to your partner.
A Dominant does indeed get a rush from you wanting His protection, guidance, and firm hand.
However, He also wants to know that you “can” stand on your own should the need arise. Without the knowledge, instead of “thinking of you” He will “worry about you”.
I want to think about My girl, with a smile on My face, wondering what she is up to.
I am thankful that My girl is as strong as she is. I may be her rock, but she is My world.
